Isle of Man

The Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown Dependency in the Irish Sea, almost equididtant between England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Ferry services to the Isle of Man are operated by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, founded in 1830. The first car ferries started operation in 1962.

The island’s ferry network connects the island’s capital, Douglas, with Liverpool and Heysham in England and Larne (23 miles north of Belfast) in Northern Ireland. Services to Belfast port ceased in December 2025 and the direct service to Dublin has been suspended for much of 2026 due to the unavailability of capacity in the port.

Flights are available into Ronaldsway Airport year round from London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh, and also from Dublin.
